Household Division TRF
British soldiers wear badges called Tactical Recognition Flashes (TRF) on the right sleeve of their combat uniforms.
TRF's help identify the wearer's Regiment or Corps if no other insignia - such as a cap badge - are worn. The Household Division, including the Foot Guards and Household Cavalry, wear this blue/red/blue TRF. These colours were taken from the clothing, known as Silks, worn by jockeys racing horses owned by the monarch.
