Visit The Guards Museum for a special tour experience: immerse yourself in the story of the Foot Guards who guard Buckingham Palace and the other royal palaces. This tour focusses on all things ceremonial: uniforms, duties, equipment and music, and can be enjoyed by all the family.
Delve into the role of a Guardsman, a life of combat, peacekeeping and ceremonial duty, as your knowledgeable museum guide shares the absorbing history of the Guards through stories, anecdotes and objects. Explore what they wear and what they do: handle real Guards kit and try on genuine Guards uniforms, the iconic scarlet tunic and bearskin cap, for a photo opportunity.
Standard Tour: 60 minutes, available to book on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:30pm.
Includes a guided tour of the museum, object handling and trying on a Guards uniform. After your visit, why not head off to Buckingham Palace (self-guided) to watch the Captain’s Inspection – with your new insights bringing the ceremony to life!

Premium Tour: 60 minutes, available to book on selected Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 3:45pm.
A private experience, enjoying the museum with your guide after hours (you can choose to independently watch the Captain's Inspection before your tour). Includes refreshments on arrival, a guided tour of the museum, object handling and trying on a Guards uniform.
